Enter the “Baltimore City Parks, Our Passion” Photo Competition this spring

Enter the contest with a photograph that captures the beauty and/or activity of any Baltimore City Park. The contest will run from November 1, 2011 to May 31, 2012. Winning entries will be exhibited in the Orianda House in Leakin Park on June 10, 2012. Prizes to be awarded for first and second place in each categories.

For adults, the entry fee is $20 for up to four entries (one per category) and for young people under the age of 18 the entry fee is $10. Photographs may be entered in the following categories:

  • Wildlife: birds, insects, etc. (pets included!)
  • Plants: flowers, trees, etc.
  • Landscapes and structures
  • People

Download the PDF registration form online or photos can also be submitted by e-mail to photocontest@friendsofgwynnsfallsleakinpark.org along with your name, address, number of entries, age category, and telephone number. You can pay online at the Friends of Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park website.

We’re also hoping to organize an exhibition of photographs from West Baltimore Squares later this spring, so if you do decide to participate, let us know at info@westbaltimoresquares.org.

Interested in sharing your photos online?

You can join the Baltimore Parks and Gardens Flickr Group to share your entries online. We welcome photos of plants and people, historic buildings, landscapes and more from the great diversity of Baltimore’s parks and gardens. This group is for parks and gardens from large to small, both modest and grand, so please contribute and share the group with other photographers who might be interested.

    I don’t understand the selection from 2011 photo contest if it the instructions were to represent Baltimore City Park life in aniamls, people, landscape, or plants.
