After having to push our West Baltimore Squares Spring Celebration Kick-off Parade and first FILM FRIDAY” back a week due to rain, April decided to stay true to “April showers” and we ultimately had to move the first Film Friday inside. Luckily, our friends over at the Franklin Square Boys and Girls Club agreed to host us in their gym.
The Boys and Girls Club after-school club, the Torch Club, which focuses on social justice issues, assisted us in carrying the outdoor movie equipment up the stairs to the gym. While the rain pounded outside and lightening light up the windows, neighborhood children and residents enjoyed Madagascar 3 on the big screen.
We were happy to test out our new outdoor movie equipment at last– The popcorn machine created movie theater popcorn and the movie screen sealed the deal in creating a theater environment! We look forward to the continuation of the series Film Friday and to the promise of May flowers and less rain! Please “like” us on Facebook for updated information on our events, or check back into our blog.
