Seasonal Landscape Work The Horticultural Division of the Department of Recreation and Parks is hiring for the following temporary positions for the Landscape Crews that maintain median strip flowerbeds. Positions may be up to 6 months. Applicants must pass a physical and drug test prior to employment. Harlem Park/Sandtown Community Garden featured in video on Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund

In late August, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources’ Communications Office staff came to Harlem Park Elementary/Middle School to film a rain garden installation performed by Parks & People Landscape Team and BRANCHES Youth Team which was designed by Hannah Bands, a JHU engineering student intern. Here is the video they created featuring Sasha Gallant from the school, Guy Hager with Parks & People, and Inez Robb, a Sandtown community member who has been involved with the community garden. Morgan State University students and faculty are responding to the recent closure of the Harlem Park Recreation Center with a new project to create conceptual designs for a new Harlem Park Recreation Center.
